A typical spray tan lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 days, depending on skin type, aftercare, and the products used. Exfoliating before the tan and moisturizing afterward can help it last longer.
The main difference between a spray tan and an airbrush tan is who applies the solution and the level of customization.Spray tans are applied by a machine, while airbrush tans are applied by a trained technician. Airbrush tans are personalized and can create a more realistic tan.
To the appointment: Loose fitting dark clothes.
During the tan: Bra/underwear, swimwear, or nude. Whatever you are most comfortable with.
It's recommended to wear loose, dark clothing immediately after an airbrush tan to avoid rubbing the tan off or staining your clothes. Tight clothing can cause streaking and affect the evenness of the tan.
Generally, you should wait at least 6-8 hours before showering after a spray tan. This gives the DHA (dihydroxyacetone), the active ingredient in most tanning solutions, time to develop and produce a tan. Some solutions may allow you to shower sooner, so it’s always best to ask your technician.
To keep your spray tan looking fresh, hydrate your skin with a good moisturizer daily. Avoid long hot showers, excessive sweating, or swimming in chlorinated pools, as these can fade the tan more quickly.
Yes, it will remove majority of the tan and/or lighten it. Seawater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of the tan. I recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water.
Wait 24 hours for it to fully develop after rinsing. If it’s still not dark enough, you can respray over it. Contact your tan artist to schedule.
Try rinsing again, soak in a bath tub, or sit in a sauna/jacuzzi. These methods will remove some of the bronzer to lighten the color.
The best time to get your airbrush tan before any event is 2-3 days prior
Please wait 16 - 24 hours and we recommend additionally rinsing off prior to working out. This will wash away any remaining bronzer – which is the cosmetic portion of your airbrush tan.
No, you will not appear orange with an INSTAGLOW Tan. We use the highest quality solution and guarantee that you will not turn orange.
Yes, the first few days minimum cosmetic bronzer might minimally rub off on your clothes etc. But, most cosmetic bronzer does rinse off
Yes! The most important thing to remember is that the solution does not contain any UV protection/sunscreen. You will still be able to develop a tan naturally in the sun.
DHA is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. There is no evidence that DHA is harmful. However, we do recommend that you consult with your physician first.
